Hi there, I’m Mark!
Your travel planner, photographer and writer of this little blog. I first fell in love with travelling when I was 16 years old. Spending entire evenings watching travel vlogs on YouTube, knowing one day I wanted to see it all for myself, and that’s what I did!
I like to backpack on a budget. Choosing the slow but cheap route and staying in 40 bed dorm rooms, but will occasionally splash out on a private room.
I have been extremely fortunate to experience living and travelling in many corners of the world. I want this blog to be a space that we can share our adventures and advice as we continue our travels. In hope that it inspires someone else to get out there and have adventures of their own.
Hi, I’m Sarah!
You’ll usually find me travelling alongside Mark — we’re pretty used to spending every day together at this point and somehow still haven’t got sick of it!!
I like to think I travel properly – I always try to pick up a bit of the local language and track down at least one dish you can only really get there. We tend to keep things budget-friendly on the road, though I will absolutely not be skipping my daily coffee no matter where we are in the world
You’ll find me over on YouTube, where I share everything from honest travel guides to the day-to-day moments of wherever we happen to be. The kind of stuff that makes you actually feel like you’re there!!
Our Journey So Far
2019-2021
We’d both finished our degrees in the UK and had saved up to go travelling. Then Covid hit and all our plans were put on hold. Luckily we hadn’t set off yet!
2022
Countries had reopened and travelling was back on the cards! We’d been able to save up more over Covid, and decided to start our travels in Europe.
After 3 months in Europe we booked the cheapest flight we could find and made our way to South East Asia.
We travelled through Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. Before heading to New Zealand for an unforgettable 3 week road trip.
Followed by 9 weeks on the classic east coast Australia route, ending in Sydney for New Year.
2023
Continuing our travels for another 5 months through the Banana Pancake route as well as Japan, South Korea and the Philippines. Before heading home to catch up with friends and end our first year of travel!
2024
Back in our 9-5 jobs, day dreaming about the next adventure. We had caught the bug and felt like 12 months just hadn’t been enough to see everything we wanted.
We decided early on that we would work flat out for at least a year, to save up and do it all again!
That time came in August 2024. With our visas in our passports we packed our bags again and moved to Japan. This time on a Working Holiday Visa.
We rounded off the year re-exploring Japan. Living in Tokyo for 1 month, exploring familiar cities like Kyoto & Osaka, and discovering new places like Wakayama and Matsumoto. All before settling in Nozawa Onsen to work the ski season.
2025
The best start to another year of travel! We lived and worked in one of the most spectacular onsen towns in Japan. Skiing everyday and partying with friends.
We then switched up the climate and went island hoping around Okinawa. Followed by our second cherry blossom season in Japan.
Feeling like there was still so much of Japan to explore. We bought a van! Well, a tiny little van. But still big enough for us to sleep in.
After a few months of exploring Japan by van we packed our bags up, sold the van, had a quick stop in Beijing, and hopped over to Greece to spend 3 weeks island hopping with some friends.
With a quick pit stop at home we finished off the year with 4 months backpacking South America. Starting at the top in Colombia, we worked our way down through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
2026
Started to blog our travels and plan the next adventure. Stay tuned…
